mntmnlol for shapeshifter i need p96's cybergraphics.library00:38

mntmnah sorry00:45
mntmnthat is the z2 file, one moment00:45

jLMOMG! I got image! 00:52
mntmnjLM: cool!00:52
jLMmntmn: Awesome! Thanks. Now I'll just have to figure out how to get files to the machine. Booting up the a1200 and connect to the internet, download and copy to floppy :)00:54

emiespo[m]Hey I just caught up with all the messages :-) lots of action during the weekend!07:02
emiespo[m]mntmn: I would NEVER run a system without setpatch! The kickstart keeps a few legacy bugs for compatibility with old software and trackloads, setpatch is meant to fix those and patches a bunch of functions ( on 3.9 the list of patches is huge ahahah).07:05
emiespo[m]It also enables properly the AGA modes, CPU caches, will detect a 68040 (on bare 3.1) and load the 68040.library (which in turn sets up the mmu and patches the missing opcodes).07:07
emiespo[m]The 68060 needs a “dummy” 68040 library which does nothing else than load the 68060 library (on 3.1, as 3.1 came out before the 68060 was available).07:08
emiespo[m]I believe the MMU library installer will also patch… setpatch  to load the 68060 lib directly. Not sure about that as 3.9’s spatch already does it, so it won’t touch it.07:11
_BnuThat's weird, though. I've never needed a dummy 68040.library, in fact the one time that I did set one up on recommendation from someone else it just crashed my system. Is this something to do with the CS MkII boot ROM?08:04
emiespo[m]I think so. The CS have a boot rom that tackles both the auto boot from scsi and partly the 68060 I believe.09:01
+ RobDangerous (~Thunderbi@p200300ec8f3e1c00886d318eafda958b.dip0.t-ipconnect.de)09:07
mntmnemiespo[m]: thanks, makes sense09:11
emiespo[m]_Bnu: my question would be: are you sure the 68060 lib was actually being loaded?09:37
_BnuI mean, yeah. Otherwise Workbench would explode.09:40
_BnuIf I don't have 68060.library in LIBS:, WB will guru on boot.09:40
emiespo[m]RobDangerous: I made an “all-in-one” example (on GitHub) that simplifies a bit data-sharing between the 68K and the ARM - it also compiles everything with one makefile. As others said: problem is the communication with the spare ARM core only works randomly. Also problem is: I don’t know if you’re online now 🤣 using element on my phone09:43

+ stepan (sid147049@id-147049.tinside.irccloud.com)09:44
emiespo[m]_Bnu: weird. Unless the CS-MK2 put a resident dummy 68040 lib in memory (possible, as it’s only 240 bytes or so) or you had a more recent version of setpatch.09:56
emiespo[m]mntmn: could the USB issue (ARM MMU messing with the FPGA registers if I got it right) be similar to the issue with the spare ARM core?09:59
Chain|Qthat's what the phase5 CPU libraries do, IIRC. to work with old SetPatch, which only knows about '040, they'll provide a dummy '040 library which then loads the right library for the actual CPU, AFAIR.10:21
Chain|Qso you'll have something like 68040.library, 68040old.library (C=), 68040new.library (p5), 68060.library in your LIBS:10:21
Chain|Qand then a dummy '040 library might stay in memory after boot, that I don't know.10:22

JoldHi, I think I have a problem with scandoubler. In low resolution, the picture jitters and the colors are strange. Sometimes there is only a black screen at all. 10:43
JoldI have no way to check the crt monitor through the Amiga video port. 10:44
JoldRTG screen is ok.10:45
mntmnemiespo[m]: the usb is solved i think10:53
JoldWhat can I do? 11:13

RobDangerousWeird news, Pinball Illusions works fine on my 060 with slave 2.2.17:02
RobDangerousBut another thing - with the 49.whatever Hz test firmware after a while the image flies in from the bottom left to the top right for a moment. I guess that's when it's one frame out of sync after a few minutes but it's a rather obtrusive effect.17:11
_BnuHm, that shouldn't happen.17:32
_BnuBut like I said, it could also be a CS MkII, or just my A4000 problem. I don't really care to figure it out.17:33
_BnuBut I'm guessing you also have normal physics in Pinball Fantasies.17:33
_BnuMost likely it's just unfixable, so I'll just live with it.17:34
RobDangerousI think so but I can't tell for sure because I know nothing about pinball.17:34
_BnuYeah, it doesn't matter.17:35
RobDangerousWe will just do the CD32 exchange and then you can play Pinball on that one.17:35
RobDangerousI'm getting better at recapping, my Jaguar and my PC Engine both survived it.17:35
_BnuNah, don't worry about it. If I've lived with Pinball Fantasies being fucked up for almost twenty years I can do it for another forty, lolb.17:37
_BnuI mean, if I live until I'm 80... I'm sure blood sugar-related complications can easily claim me before then.17:38
RobDangerousWe will figure that out for your 70th birthday. When I'm retired I want to spend my time fixing up whdload installs.17:40
_BnuAlso hm, are you sure the game wasn't in NTSC mode? Because I've seen that happen with NTSC on PAL, but not with PAL on PAL.17:56
RobDangerousYes. Already saw it on the weekend with Aunt Arctic Adventure but thought it would probably be a weird glitch with the game on my system. Now saw it happening in P.P. Hammer. All PAL, the games and my system.18:00
_BnuI'll have to poke around and check for some other suitable clock wizard numbers, then.18:03
RobDangerousUh oh, good luck.18:04
_BnuUnfortunately the area around that refresh rate is one with very few closely matching MibiHerz.18:04
RobDangerousHerzschmerz18:04
mntmnwholesome18:32
apolkosnik[m]Sounds like flux capacitor instability 18:52
_BnuI know, right. Except it's very stable instability.19:02
