mntmnvery nice https://twitter.com/sigurbjornl/status/1414876298242142209?s=2012:05
mntmnmight tune into this stream 2 nite12:05
Claudeoh I think that's islands whole Amiga scene! all 1 persons :) 12:26
mntmnhaha12:29
Jope_https://twitter.com/AmigaWorld/status/1414693173255974915 hoho12:32

Jopehttps://twitter.com/k0xak/status/1414488561500446721 the worth of a3660s is going to go up I think.. 12:34
mntmnJope: oh cool!12:34
mntmnwhere are de rams12:34
Jopemost likely no DMA 12:34
mntmnhow much memory does it have?12:34
JopeI couldn't find anything more than the tweet so far12:34
Jopehope the ram is there somewhere12:34
Jopewould be unfortunate to have 25MHz RAM in a 50MHz 03012:35
mntmni cannot read it says 64/128mb12:35
Jopeyes.. looks like rams could be beside the jtag header12:36
JopeI wonder if that would still allow keeping superkick compatibility in an a300012:38
JopeI'm still in love with the superkick concept for that machine12:39
mntmni do like the idea of a fast 68030 for a300012:57
mntmnbecause i'm having quite a lot of weird compat issues with old games on 06012:57
Claudefrom the compatibility to older stuff a 030 is really the best one can get if it should be more than 5 MIPS 13:36
Claude030 with additional external cache :) or 2 cycle fast burst 13:37
Claudebut unfortunately not many 030 accelerator are able to do that 13:38
Jopeagreed.. 030 is compatibility love13:38
Jopeactually 040 too13:38
JopeI love/hate the 040 as a result13:38

apolkosnik[m]<Jope "https://twitter.com/k0xak/status"> That's awesome 14:15
mntmnhmm funky idea to have RAM as a CPU interposer14:17
mntmnin before ZZ9000 as cpu interposer14:17

RobDangerousI recently switched from an A1200 with an 030 to an A4000 with an 060. So far no additional compatibility problems, all whdload so far though. What are some of the games that cause trouble?14:43
+ xet7 (~xet7@user/xet7)14:43
- xet7 (QUIT: Remote host closed the connection) (~xet7@user/xet7)14:47
mntmnRobDangerous: for example full metal planete, the timer runs so fast that you have no time to make a move14:59
mntmnRobDangerous: also i think captain blood is not working correctly, but it might just be a weird game15:00
mntmnRobDangerous: also i had trouble with the flight sim inside of BAT215:00
mntmnRobDangerous: also chaos engine is slowed down (low fps)15:01
_BnuWeird, Chaos Engine always ran fine on my A4000... not sure about the others.15:04
mntmnnot sure atm about the ECS vs AGA versions15:07
_BnuI've played both a bunch of times, though I mostly prefer the colors in the ECS version.15:08
mntmnunfortunately i need to modify a ton of reform motherboards now15:09
Jopewhdload alleviates the compatibility stuff a lot tho15:11
Jopere: 040 vs 06015:11
JopeI like to do things without whdload often and there the 040 is more better15:12
Jopethe 060 doesn't like to run as many old things15:12
RobDangerousChaos Engine is the only one I played of those and it worked fine. Also whdload though. BAT2 is something I wanted to give a try at some point. I think I still have a hardware-dongle for that somewhere.15:37
RobDangerousWhen I can I generally prefer whdload. But not everything is in there, in particular some new things. New as in from the late 90s.15:38
RobDangerousBut when I retire, should I ever do that, I want to write whdload installers myself.15:41
Jopeif games are your main interest, then of course whdload every time15:42
Jopeto me the amiga is not as much about the games so I like running all kinds of stuff "on the os"15:43
RobDangerousYes, I'm very gamey. It's how I earn my money and how I spend my free time. Even my fancy A4000 is mainly just for games.15:44
Jopenothing wrong with that15:44
RobDangerousHopefully. Thanks.15:45
_BnuI mostly use my A4000 to play games as well. But I mean, trying to run non-AGA games from floppy on an 060 Amiga seems like a dumb thing to do.15:47
Jopeyep15:49
apolkosnik[m]WHDLoad for the win! 15:49
Jopejust isn't what one does15:49
JopeI play games on my a4000 as well .. it's the amiga that is always ready to go15:50
Jopeso no matter what amiga stuff I want to do, I usually do it with that15:50
RobDangerouswhdload is one of the bestest projects out there, for any system. Really quite spectacular.15:52
Jopeyep15:59
Jopenot quite a vm, but a good wrapper15:59
RobDangerousAll the work behind all of those patches is what amazes me most. And still going strong after decades.16:05
